November 2009 Passenger & Air Cargo traffic statistics at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport

ACTIVITY OVERVIEW

November 2009

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for November 2009 was 678,919 up 1% compared to November 2008. November 2009 enplanements totaled 343,369, up 2%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 258,533, up 9.5% compared to November 2008; American Airlines passengers totaled 147,195, down 7%; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 72,807, down 8%; Delta Air Lines (including SkyWest) passengers totaled 66,275, up 37%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, GoJet, and Mesa) passengers totaled 38,440, up 9.5%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 35,367, up 8%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 28,084, down 17%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 16,982, up 2%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 12,492.

November 2009 air cargo totaled 12,038,387 lbs., down 15% compared to November 2008. International air cargo totaled 404,522 up 37%. Federal Express carried 7.3 million lbs., down 7%; and United Parcel Service carried 2.5 million lbs., up 16%.

Air Services transferred 535,447 lbs of mail, down 4%; and 1 million lbs. of belly freight, down 26%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 5,610 up 8.5%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 14,950, up 0.6%.

January – November 2009 Year to Date

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January – November YTD was 7,526,335 down 7.5% compared to January – November 2008. January – November 2009 enplanements totaled 3,759,807, down 7.5%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 2,842,462, up 2.5%; American Airlines (including Trans States) passengers totaled 1,700,585, down 17.5%; Continental Airlines passengers totaled 842,886, down 5%; Delta Air Lines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, Pinnacle, and Atlantic Southeast) passengers 654,299, up 14%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, GoJet, and Mesa) passengers totaled 431,279, down 11%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 387,675, up 19%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 357,682 up 12%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 207,787, down 0.6%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 51,139.

November YTD (January – November 2009) air cargo totaled 141,467,484 lbs., down 24.5%. International air cargo totaled 3,438,503 lbs., down 15%. Federal Express carried 91.2 million lbs., down 2%; and United Parcel Service carried 25 million lbs., down 13.5%.

Air Services transferred 5 million lbs of mail, down 19%; and 13.5 million lbs. of belly freight, down 29.5%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 54,388 for January – November YTD, down 19%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 160,848, down 17%.
