The new frequency will make day trips to San Jose and back to Austin possible. This will benefit business travelers which regularly flock to this popular flight. The Austin-San Jose flights are nicknamed the “Nerd Bird” because they connect two high-tech markets. Tickets are available for purchase at alaskaair.com or by calling 1-800-ALASKAAIR (1-800-252-7522). The flight will depart Austin-Bergstrom International Airport at 8 a.m. and arrive in San Jose at 9:40 a.m. The return flight will depart San Jose at 5:50 p.m. and arrive back in Austin at 11:10 p.m., all times local. Alaska Airlines will operate the flight with Boeing 737-800s, accommodating 16 passengers in first class and 141 in the main cabin.
