Several branch libraries are hosting their annual family holiday celebrations. Please join us for one or all as we celebrate this holiday season in Austin! All celebrations are free and open to the public. For additional information call (512) 974-7400. The following special programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Austin Public Library.
Family Holiday Party at the South Austin Pleasant Hill Branch |

Pleasant Hill Branch, 211 E. William Cannon Drive will host a holiday open house on Saturday, December 2 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The mariachi band "Los Tres Amigos Y Pepe" will perform, there will be Crafts for kids, and a quilt display from the Austin Area Quilt Guild are all part of the open house. |
6th Annual Lighting of the Peace Tree
at University Hills Branch |

University Hills Branch, 4721 Loyola Lane will be hosting the 6th Annual Lighting of the Peace Tree on Tuesday, December 5 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. All are invited to this celebration of peace which will commence with socializing and refreshments at 6 p.m. and a program beginning at 7 p.m. Musicians, performance artists, dancers, poets, and speakers will be featured on the program. This unique library event is non-political and non-sectarian. Peace ornaments will be provided and the attendees will be asked to hang one on the Peace Tree as they enter the library. |

Hampton Branch at Oak Hill, 5125 Convict Hill Road will host their annual Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 9 from 2 p.m. to 4p.m. A sing-a-long with Mr. Johnny and Friends and crafts for kids are part of the library celebration. |
Yarborough Branch Celebrates with their
Annual Winter Holiday Party |

Yarborough Branch, 2200 Hancock Drive is hosting their annual Winter Holiday Party, Saturday, December 9, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The celebration will include music, food, displays, crafts for kids, storytelling by Bernadette Nason, and musical performances by Capitol City Highlanders Pipe Band, Manchaca All Stars Bluegrass, and Mariachi Garibay. |
A Posada and Mexican Festival for Adults and Children/Un Festival para Toda La Familia |

Ruiz Branch, 1600 Grove Blvd. will host their 19th Annual Fiesta Navideña a Mexican Christmas Festival on Tuesday, December 19 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Fiesta includes a posada, a piñata for the children and Mexican food of the season. |
